USPTO Granted Patents

During my 35+ year tenure, I've had the opportunity to work with some talented indivuduals on some very IP intensive projects.  The most prolific was the startup Insulin pump project based out of Simi Valley-then-Silicon Valley; M2 Medical.

It was my entree to Engineering Management; I was Employee #4 and the first engineering hire.  My CEO was a believer in what I could do, and since he was a medical device Engineering VP before  bringing me on to work on this project, did a lot to help me succeed (many thanks Jim).  Ultimately he made me manager of the engineering group.

We were chasing a novel and disruptive concept in Insulin Pump design, so we spent a lot of time in the conference room brainstorming.  We came up with a good number of ideas that became patents, and at one point I was managing the IP portfolio.  Of course in a startup your wear many hats and that was one that fell to me for a while until the organization grew to the point that I had to delegate.
